It would be nice to be able to set it as it appears that it influences the
date stamp on recordings...rocker

I think this should be easy, if that's helpful. It's a new idea.

Spelling is technically harder, because
a) the voice queue would have to be much longer (currently set to composite
numbers as the worst-case), or the talking needs a thread.
b) I'd introduce a lot of "voice IDs" (empty string IDs), which waste 5
bytes of precious const memory each. Maybe I should reconsider, introduce a
second class of IDs for such.

Maybe it should be on by default, but no voicefile present? So once you add
the file, you have voice, otherwise you won't notice the feature. If the
file
is present, you can use an option to turn it off.

Time and date settings are a screen, not part of the menu. Screens are not
voiced yet. Does it make sens to set the time? It's nowhere read, only the
status bar shows it.

They should be talking, are you trying with todays build and my recent voice
file (from this morning)?

Debug has no voice because it's not using string IDs, but hard coded
strings. This way it will never be talking. But to users this menu doesn't
exist...

We'd have to think about where to put that.
In general, a couple of new requirements are popping up: say the time, spell
a filename, say battery level, etc.
