Wait for Linus reaction before starting any big work on your libraries! 8-) To answer your question I am currently using MusicMatch Plus at level 8.2 but I have used all levels since 1999 and the TCON tags always look the same simple way, e.g. * TCON the frame identifier * $00 00 00 05 the frame length * $00 00 the frame flags * $00 Jazz the genre string itself I am not too sure of what is the leading $00 in the string but it is there in all cases I have analyzed, including when the genre coding is of the form (xx). In this case the string would be $00 (40), for example. Again; let's wait for more info from Linus before worrying any longer. After all, my main usage of categorizing tags is on the PC side when managing my libraries or when creating playlists for the jukebox. Therefore as long as my host tools find what they need (and they do) the trouble is not too serious. Cheers.
