Subject: Using different voices to record directory names is possible

Using different voices to record directory names is possible

Hi, all.
This falls into the category of things everyone but me probably
knew. You can, if you use Brian's old script, use any voice you like that
happens to be SAPI 5 compatible to create your .dirname.mp3 files. Just
switch to that voice in Windows 2K/XP's speech applet of the control panel
and you're up and running. I've used Neospeech and AT&T to do it and they're
both quite happy to work, though I think the voice parameters need some
tweaking with the more human-sounding voices. With Jörg's new script, this
doesn't work, as it seems to call Microsoft Mary and Sam specifically,
rather than just using whatever voice the computer's default is set to, as
opposed to Brian's script, which uses Jörg's speak.exe file, which just uses
the default, which is selectable from the control panel.
        Aman.
