You're right, we probably just want to change that extension to avoid the annoyance, rather than fixing every other tool out there. In the meantime, if you have cygwin/unixutils or something like that on your PC, you could try piping the dir command through grep to exclude any dirname files, e.g., [your dir command] | grep -v "dirname.mp3" > [your output file] The mp3list.vbs script (bundled with the dirname generating script) will exclude those dirname files for you.
