OK! We had what we call in french a dialogue of the deaf! And we were
both right, as often in such cases.

Indeed you have fixed the problem and the genre appears correctly in the
WPS screens at present. In fact I do not know if it did not before
because I never had this tag in my WPS before but I trust everybody that
it did not.

But since I say that I never had it in my WPS... it means that I was
looking at the ID3 Info screen every time I needed to check some
occasionally. And, there, it is still not fixed, unfortunately. I am
surprised that it is not a common info inside Rockbox but since I have
never written any code for Rockbox I would not dare to blame anybody
about that! 8-)

I think that we should not be far from a definitive solution now. Thank
