In mid March, I posted an email below about using the 9V Radio Shack adapter
with the Recorder V2. I actually needed to use it this weekend when my
battery was about half dead, and 9V is too high in my opinion.

It didn't kill it, but it did get really warm, and after the battery had
been charged to 3/4 it gave off that characteristic smell that if I had not
checked it, I might be replacing a voltage regulator shortly.

Therefore I would use either the 6V Radio Shack adapter if you want to just
buy one, or an 8V regulator with a diode. 6V will charge slower than the
power adapter, but it's not worth smokin' the unit just to get it charged
quickly. :) 9V is probably OK if it's charged, but I wouldn't take the
chance now.
