Can anyone point me in the right direction so I can learn how to install
patches? I read the link down at the bottom of the patch page (using the
patch tool and so forth). I was told to install the cygwin environment which
I did as well, but I'm a little lost from here. Is there a good resource
where I can learn more?

Any help would be grealty appreciated.
