The nomber in second is the time Rockbox will take to progressively turn
volume to normal once it has been turn down.
So 2sec is good if you want to bring your nominal volume quickly; and 8sec
is better if you want something smoother, that change less quickly the
volume. Set it as you prefer.

I noticed that every mp3 seems to have a different recording level, and some
are pretty loud compared to others. Mine is set to 8 seconds, but I
couldn't tell the difference between 8 and 2. Is the largest value best or
should I use something in-between?
