Microsoft Windows users cannot rename the files within their file browser.

I won't be using this feature myself, but here are some points rounded up by other people:

PREFIX (AS WORD) PROs CONs
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
. (dot) Hides the file in UNIX Renders the file unrenameable in Windows
~ (tide) Sends to bottom of list Apparently has special meaning in UNIX
_ (underscore) No compatibly problems When a file is at the Top of the list it will cause Track Numbers and File numbers to become different
        (none) Obvious Will mean the file is not at the top nor bottom of list
