It may be worth noting that only the V1 has digital out.

"Line Level" I/O is very specific - iirc, it's 1V peak-to-peak - most units
have it clearly labelled - to get Line Out of rockbox, you need to use the
ear/headphone socket and set the volume on the jukebox to about 92
