There are two differences: -The Belkin looks nicer (IMO) -The power button on the Belkin is smaller and harder to push by accident. I killed a pair of batteries in the off-brand unit the first day by accidentally turning the power on. Other than that, they were essentially identical: -Both take 2 AAA batteries -Both offer the same choice of 4 frequencies -Both run about the same amount of time on a pair of batteries (about 2 weeks of commuting, whatever that works out to) -Both have essentially the same signal strength (weak) -Both have the same, generally poor, audio quality. Strangely, they actually sound okay once in a while, but it's not due to signal or battery strength. I'm not an audiophile and don't think I have a particularly discerning ear, but I've been disappointed with the sound quality of the FM transmitters. Still, I use them. I suppose they're worth $5 or so. -- Rich _______________________________________________ http://cool.haxx.se/mailman/listinfo/rockbox Received on 2004-06-03 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
