Subject: RE: Audio_3587 Beta Status Update

RE: Audio_3587 Beta Status Update

From: Mark Bright <mark_at_redbreva.co.uk>

OK the problem is definitely around the modified code for the power off :
I added/modified power.c on my standard build :

void power_off(void)
{
    int i;
    char buff[20];
    /* fade out with volume control before powering down */
    for(i=mas_codec_readreg(0x10); i; i--)
        mas_codec_writereg(0x10, i);
        sleep(HZ/10); /* pause to let the chip finish it's ramping */

As per BC's modifications, and I experienced the same "Lock up's" on
attempting to power off.

Changing the code to :
void power_off(void)
{
    int i;
    char buff[20];
    /* fade out with volume control before powering down */
    for(i=mas_codec_readreg(0x10); i; i--)
    {
            snprintf(buff,20,"%08X",i);
            lcd_clear_display();
      lcd_puts(1,1,buff);
            lcd_update();
            button_get(true);
        mas_codec_writereg(0x10, i);
        sleep(HZ/10); /* pause to let the chip finish it's ramping */
    }

Shows the start value to be &00006780, which takes a LONG TIME to count
down, As Register x10 is the Volume with a value between 0 and 7F, why am I
being returned such a huge number?

The volume at the time was set to 82% (Rockbox scale)

Mark

|Do you have ICQ or AIM or something?
|
|If so email me privately with your details.
|
|I've got an idea what this "fade delay" might be.
|I don't understand it, but I'm damn sure I know where to look
|in my mods.
|
|If I am right, it may well help to identify the other weird hangs :)
