You might want to be careful. The starting of a car has been known to send
power spikes through devices. I was in Radio Shack and the guy in front of me
had either popped the fuse on his cigarette lighter ac adapter or blown his
cell phone. The guy said that the spikes, when they happen, can be in the 10s
of thousands of volts.
