Date: Wed, 16 Jun 2004 17:09:48 +0200 I think there should be no problem for formatting through usb, just do it as for any drive in windows. maybe check the list for hd compatibility problems. fat32 has a 32gb limit for size also? I dont know if you can use multiple partitions../ I don't have such a big disk so I can't tell you... Gary wrote: >I would love to, but formatting the new hd is the obstacle. Can it be installed, then formatted? If there isnt a program to do this, I dont have the knowledge to do it. I honestly never heard of fat32 until this list. That should show you my tech skill level. > >Gary > >-----Original Message----- >From: sophana <jobarjo78_at_yahoo.fr> >Sent: Jun 16, 2004 8:41 AM >To: Gary <flgants_at_earthlink.net>, Rockbox development <rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se> >Subject: Re: Newb question about external HD's (non-aol) but still newb > >Why don't you buy a larger hard drive for your archos? >80Gigs will host your 700 cds. > >Gary wrote: > > > >>Is it possible to program the archos to read from another external HD? I use my AJBRv2 for mostly home stereo stuff. I have over 700 cd's that I would love to rip and get rid of. Is this do-able? My stereo is in another room from my computer, so just patching them together just doesnt seem feasible. >> >>Gary >> >> >>_______________________________________________ >>http://cool.haxx.se/mailman/listinfo/rockbox >> >> >> >> >> > > > > > _______________________________________________ http://cool.haxx.se/mailman/listinfo/rockbox Received on 2004-06-16 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
