Subject: CUE-file support?

CUE-file support?

Good morning,

there is always(?) a problem with audio-mix-cds that contain a mix of songs
without any pause between the songs. Using an audio cd-player you can still
jump from song to song, but you hear no skip between the songs when you
listen to the whole cd.

ExactAudioCopy (for example) can create a MP3-compressed image of such an
audio-cd and can also create a cue-file that contains markers for each song.
The cue-file looks as follows:

PERFORMER "Mixed and compiled by Vincenzo"
TITLE "Strip Joint Grooves Vol.1"
FILE "Strip_Joint_Grooves_Vol.1.mp3" MP3
  TRACK 01 AUDIO
    PERFORMER "Vincenzo"
    TITLE "Confusion"
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
  TRACK 02 AUDIO
    PERFORMER "Needs"
    TITLE "So Many Things"
    INDEX 01 06:10:42
  TRACK 03 AUDIO
    PERFORMER "George Levin"
    TITLE "When I'm With You"
    INDEX 01 10:59:12
...

Using MS Windows, Foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/) for example
perfectly supports such cue-files, while Winamp needs a plugin. Cue-file
support would not only be helpful for dj-mix-cds, but also for audio books
and radio plays.

So cue-file support in Rockbox would be a nice feature IMHO.

Regards,
Carsten
