        My unit doesn't report buffer size, either. However, I don't know if
the reporting of buffer size would do you much good if the buffer is too
small, since the voice file wouldn't be loaded and you wouldn't be able to
hear the report.

Thanks, I'll pass this info on. I just checked my own unit that thankfully
talks just fine. The build I am currently running does not give the buffer
size under info/rockbox info. I only get battery level, free space on
drive, and current time. Was this added just recently?

The voice file may not fit, if the files and directory buffers are set to
oversizedly large. Try resetting the settings. And check Info -> Rockbox
Info. The buffer size given there must be larger than the voice file.
