2 changes to Aman's changes:
I would not say :
"fully accessible to the blind, "
But I would say:
"which offers the Blind access to many of its features"

because it is not really fully accessible.
Also,
As you down arrow to general settings, and right arrow, you only need to up
arrow once for "voice.
I would offer the directions as such:
F1
down arrow twice
right arrow once
up arrow once
right arrow twice
up arrow once
left arrow 4 times to exit
Glenn

Hi, Christie.
Very nice FAQ, and it's a great idea
I don't know if I should be editing text, or even if I can, so I'll
do the pasting here and you can tell me to edit it or do so yourself, as you
wish.
You said

This is an attempt to answer questions frequently asked by blind
Rockbox users. The Rockbox team are justifiably proud of Rockbox's role in
making the Archos Jukebox the only hard-drive based MP3 player on the market
fully accessible to the blind, but there are several unique problems that
blind users have to contend with.

There are fully accessible flash and CD based players (four times
the cost, three quarters of the functionality, one eightieth to one quarter
the storage space), so the above isn't so. Also, frequently is misspelled.

When describing the units, you don't mention the jacks. I'd have
liked to see that when I got both my units, and would have absolutely loved
to see it had I not had a sighted person around at the time.

For the FM recorders and the Recorder V2s,
There are four jacks, two on the left side of the unit near the
lower left corner, and two on the right side of the unit near the lower
right corner. On the left side, the jack that is closer to the corner is the
line in jack. The jack which is further away from the corner is the
headphone jack. On the right side, the jack that is closer to the corner,
and is, at least on my unit, part of the lower right bumper, is the AC
adaptor in jack. The jack above that, which is small and rectangular, is the
USB jack.
For the recorder V1 and player units
On the bottom side panel of the unit, there is a long rectangular
jack which is the USB connection. To the left of that is the line-in jack.
To the right of the USB jack is the AC adaptor jack. On the top side panel
of the unit, there are two jacks. For the player, the jack on the left, near
the left upper bumper, is the headphone jack. The one on the right is the
line-out jack. For the recorder, the one on the left, near the left upper
bumper, is the headphone jack. The one on the right, near the right upper
bumper, is the digital line-out jack.

The above are descriptions I wrote a while ago. Feel free to edit or
dispose of them as you wish.
You say, in your button descriptions for the recorders, that the off
button is the "Rightmost of the two buttons located below and to the left
of the navigation controls". You also say that the stop/off button is
"Leftmost of the two buttons located below and to the left of the navigation
controls". On my recorder V1, the buttons are oriented vertically. That is,
the on button is directly above the stop/off button. Only on the V2/FMs is
one to the left of another. However, even on the V2/FM, one is above the
other. You might want to use that, instead of right and left, or make a new
section for original recorders.

I'd replace that with
is no way to tell the difference between these models from the
outside without sight, but installing the FM recorder version of the Rockbox
firmware is

Between is misspelled, and recorderfm is pronounced recorderfum. FM
recorder brings it closer to a more usual pronunciation, and the FM firmware
is labelled fmrecorder on the daily page.
You said
menu, down * 2, right, up * 4, right, up, right, up, play * 2.

I'd replace this with
menu
Down
Down
right
Up
up
up
up
right
up
right
up
Play
Play

The screen reader will say "play star two" or "up star 4", which may
be confusing to some. If you want to put it in a less space hungry format,
you could say
menu, down twice, right, up four times, right, up, right, up, play
twice. Further, I'd add a statement that menu should probably be waited for.
That is, there should be a delay between hitting menu and starting the
sequence of direction keys.
Again, nice idea and good work. Can't think of any questions right
now, but they will come <g>.
Aman

Subject: Rockbox FAQ for the blind

This seemed like a good idea. Thanks to the wonder of Wiki it's up on
the website linked off the docs page.

http://rockbox.haxx.se/twiki/bin/view/Main/BlindFAQ/

I'm not blind myself, so if I goofed in some way, please let me know.
Hopefully the tables are still parsable sensibly from a screen reader.
Suggestions for questions I've missed also welcome.

Christi
