Hey, check this out. It was posted on Neuros forum 2 days ago. Is this
anything the Rockbox community would be interested in? They're offering full
"firmware development tools, supply source code, schematics, virtually
anything necessary to accomplish their goals." I think I already know what
Neon John thinks of this platform, but just thought I'd throw this out
there....

*********** EXCERPT ***************
The Neuros Audio team is current passing around ideas for a so-called Neuros
Challenge to show our support for the Open FW and HW community. Before we
commit the resources to this project, we would like to gauge the interest in
this idea.

Essentially, we will run a contest by which Neuros users can submit design
ideas, both HW and FW, that they are interested in AND capable of
prototyping. We know a great number of our users are very technically
capable! The details have not been fully worked out but we expect to take
entries for approximately 30 days. The Neuros team will then judge the ideas
based on criteria had had previously published and select a few designs
(probably three). There will likely be consolation prizes for the next three
designs as well.

These three applicants (or teams of applicants) will then be empowered to
create a proof of concept for their ideas. We will loan firmware development
tools, supply source code, schematics, virtually anything necessary to
accomplish their goals.

After approximately 60 days (again, the details have not been decided), the
designs will be reviewed once more. There will likely be cash associated with
the prizes, among other things.

Prior to launching this design challenge and detailed HW specifications to the
public, we want to release our schematics to those who are interested.
Hopefully this will get your creative juices going. Within one week, I will
be ready to send out schematics to those who have requested them. Please send
an email to tjohnson(at)neurosaudio.com to express your interest.
