I don't think it would be very helpful, blind users would never know which is the correct letter? But it would save voice entries, because words like "grave" and "umlaut" would appear only once, not in each of those. However, this mapping may differ per language, no good to have this fixed in Rockbox. For the sake of language independence, I'd rather make voicefont entries for the full charset (8 bytes per char, but in the voicefile, not in Rockbox). This would be almost 2kB for the possibility to have them in, plus the actual clip size for each realized one.
