I normally use the following settings:
    Deep Discharge On
    Trickle Charge Off

This tends to work fine, but sometimes it gets stuck at a very low voltage
(usually after I have been doing some USB work) - in this situation I tend
to reboot in the Archos firmware and leave it "not playing"for an hour or
so, then there is enough juice to go back to normal use.

Before I travel I normally turn deep discharge off and trickle charge on
(while using it) - But last time I did this when I turned it on on the plane
it was at 20% battery level, When I arrived I charged in a regular charger
and all was well. On my return the unit was still at 75% (that external
charge really helped the batteries) so I plugged it in (Deep Off and Trickle
On), within a few hours I unplugged it to see how much charge had taken - it
had actually gone _DOWN_ to aprox 35%.

I turned trickle Off and am testing again (I travel tomorrow) - So Deep Off,
Trickle Off and using it in work as I type.
