No, the Archos firmware always boots the .ajz from the internal memory. But
as soon as Rockbox takes over, it will (currently) use only the external
card, if one is plugged.
This is annoying, it expects a .rockbox directory there, will bitch if none
found. Also the settings are loaded/saved to there, defaults if none found.
So except from the .ajz itself, you rather need the installation on every
card. And each will carry it's own set of settings, which may even be nice
in some cases, annoing in others.

Different question:
Since you seem to have an OndioFM with the Samsung tuner, can you try the
latest build? I have re-enabled the FM screen, it may already work with that
"classic" tuner. I can't test, since mine has the yet unsupported Philips
tuner. Presets are unsupported for the lack of keys to access (but I'll have
to come up with something), recording should work with short press of the
menu button, settings with longer press. Recording stop and exit is the
power button.
