Re: archo jukebox recorder 20gb mic

I bought a cheap little mic, about the size of a USB pin drive, and it
takes 2 button batteries, and it really amplifies great with my JBR 20, with
no drive spin pick-up.
This is like a super ear mic, so it seems to pick up sounds in the higher
frequencies better, but it will pick up sounds from far away extremely
well.

This is true.

A friend has the AJBR20 and hasn't experienced this.

My AJBRFM20, (which has had to be returned because of some other technical
faults), also recorded the drives spin up/spin down, with a portible mini
pre-amp and set of binorrel microphones from,

www.soundprofessionals.com

The pre-amp was over $220 so it was a very high quality device.

I was able to minimalise the feedback by lowering the internal volume and
boosting my pre-amp, (which is sensitive in the extreme), for example I can
record the goings on in 7 conference sized rooms away from my current
location, if I had it on high sensitivity. But when i adjusted the levels
the noise is not heard as much but it's still there.

Would this be the chassey or the drive then?

EG Hitachi drives are going to be louder than Fujitsu drives?
