Flashing an FMR certainly makes it seriously quick. About 3 seconds from that fateful press to voice. Not even my ex-wife would jump that fast!. Don't you just love kit? I've just had mine flashed and turned into a ROM box, with an 80GB hd fitted. Several months back I posted a note advising that my FMR had died. NO clicking noise when pressing on. NO back light. No USB. All that was showing was the green light. Green light on while charger was plugged in. Green light while charger was unplugged. Green light for ever! (smile) Well, just for fun I pulled it out of the junk bin and pressed the on button. SHAZAM! ! It fired up! ! The battery even still had a 62% charge? I turned it off and expected the worst but it fired up again. I decided to flash the latest daily build and wow: it fired up faster then ever. My question is: I never had the FMR flashed in the past. Now that I have flashed it, will I experience more stability in operation? Does the flash content circumvent circuitry that might fix my original problem?? I can't figure out this freaking thing man! So go dig out your old dead FMr units and for fun press the on button. You never know, it might just fire up too! Cheers...rocker _______________________________________________ http://cool.haxx.se/mailman/listinfo/rockbox --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free.
