As I explained in my previous post, I don't want another round of "i'm not able to restore my language/buffer settings" problems, like the 2.2 had. People will pretty soon learn how the new shutdown works. And it won't affect people like you think it will, because FM/V2 owners have plenty of time to react on the "shutting down" splash before the hardware shuts off, and the V1 recorder won't spin up the drive of the user holds OFF since the clean shutdown is triggered by a double click, not a held OFF button. Why not fix it the proper way instead, so the final fix can end up in 2.3? Just removing the spinup doesn't serve much purpose at all.
