Before you get too worried, you should remove the disk from the JB and
connect it directly to a PC with an adaptor or an external USB enclosure and
see if it still has the problem. This will rule out the JB as the source of
the problem, as there have been reports of HDD power delivery problems on
JBs in the past. If it is the disk, you should be able to get most of the
data off it and onto a new disk - it might take a while though.
