Looking way into the future......is it technically possible for the iRiver
to use the voice UI without completely stopping playback?

The voice UI can only work if the playback buffer is free. The voice file
gets loaded into there. So the song has to be stopped, sorry.

Another restriction is that the mp3 decoder chip has to be in playback mode.
This is why there's no voice when you're about to record.
