Yes, the whole player is thicker.

The grayscale dithering library is a rather archos-specific trick that I can't promise will be available or have the same API on the iriver. However the iriver display natively supports 4 grayscales which we will definitely support, although not in the first version.

That should be fairly easy. We will have a general-purpose pcm data pump that different codecs and applications can feed.
