It provides the low-level API of Rockbox in your host development environment.
You can thus develop stuff and try it entirely on host before installing it
and testing it on target.

It doesn't emulate the hardware nor the processor.

We already have a simulator for the iRiver working. Get the code, build it,
run it. They key setup is still Archos-like for the iRiver sim though, which
is just about the first thing we should fix...

Of course the sim needs to be extended to provide more API:s for iRiver, so
that we can go ahead and develop sound encoders/decoders on host.
