Subject: recording problem

recording problem

Hi all, Over the Christmas period, I've tried to record a couple of
radio programmes from my DAB radio to my archos recorder V2, (with the
FM radio) using an analogue connection. In both cases, I've tried to
record an 8 hour long programme. The recordings have started OK,
however after an hour the second time, and about 4 hours the first,
the recordings have become seriously degraded. In the first case, it
sounds as though there's major clipping on the bass notes of the
recording. I thought at first, that the recording level was too high,
however there doesn't seem to be a way of adjusting this, certainly
not through speech. In the second case, the recording keeps loosing
bits. I.E. there's half a second of sound, and then variable blank
spaces, up to half a second.

I'm totally blind, so am using rb with the voiced menus and so on.

In the past, I've done lots of recording, with no problem, including a
bit from the DAB radio. This is however the first time that I've
attempted to record music on the RB through the radio, though I've
done it from audio streams from the internet.

Thanks,

Rob
