Date: Sat, 15 Jan 2005 20:47:07 +0000 Solved Problem ========= Thanks Linus and JC, I think my problem of songs stopping midway has been solved. I opened up my Archos Jukebox Recorder 20 v1 and found that the connection to the chassis on the top left hand corner was broken. I had never soldered before, so I went to Radio Shack and bought some solder and a 30W iron. After numerous tries of assembling and reassembling, I believe I finally have the connection in place - and with a new set of NIMH batteries the Archos now plays flawlessly. New Problem ========= Unfortunately now the battery charging and recharging mechanism is broken. When I plug in the power adapter it stays at the "Not Charging" screen forever. I left it plugged in overnight and in the morning my batteries were drained to the point were I had to recharge them externally. Possible Causes =========== I had a slight accident with my soldering iron that did seemed inconsequential at the time. As I was trying solder the chasis joint on the top left hand corner of the player, I accidentally desoldered the bottom battery connection (the one closest to the ground if you are looking that the player's Digital In/Out & Ear connections as it is lying on its back). As I was trying to fix the bottom battery connection, I used a little too much solder and the glob merged with the battery connection above it. I tried to seperate the two, but without success since I don't know how to remove solder. Could this possibly be the problem, or am I barking up the wrong tree.
