looks like a promising step towards a more real-worls charging to me.

I vote for taking out that trickle charge option int the UI, internally
always do trickle. Otherwise it's not understandable that your batteries get
discharged with a connected charger.
 
Deep discharge is another useless option, imho. Present day NiMH cells don't
suffer from the memory effect like NiCads did.

And, we should start charging immediately, if in doubt, to prevent the flat
battery problem. See tonights IRC discussion between Jens and me for the
issues involved.
