This is what I did in the past using Goldwave 5.10 and AudibleManage 4.0:
1. Downloaded and installed Audible and Goldwave and followed the
instructions for adding MP3 encoding if you want to encode to MP3.
2. Downloaded the Audible content that I bought.
3. Start Goldwave and open the .aa file that you downloaded above. I had
to set the file filter to *.* (All Files) to see .aa files.
4. Goldwave will pop up a a User Name and password prompt. I entered by
Audible.com account information.
5. Once Goldwave opened the file, I was able to save it to a different
format (.wma, .ogg, .mp3, etc.).

There will be some loss of audio quality, which happens with any
cross-encoding.
