From the very moment you lose the files, DO NOT USE THE DISK, as any write
to the disk (bookmarks, playlists, etc) risk writing to a sector which is
now flagged as unused. WRITE NOTHING TO THE DISK.

From there you can hook it up to a PC and run one of any number of
disk/file recovery utils - I haven't needed one since the Norton Utils 8
for DOS so I'm not going to name anything - but a google for "file recovery
unerase" (no quotes) will spew out any number of results.

Good Luck,

BC
