Go to www.goldwave.com there is a demo, its a good program, I think its
about $50. For the Jaws scripts for Gold Wave, go to www.jfwlite.com and
click on programs.

Do you know if there are sites selling them in the mp3 format? Is Gold
Wave expensive?

If I had known that most web sites sold music in WMA format then I'd
make
sure my player played all formats. How can MP3's be so popular if the
web
sites aren't selling them? You can convert using Gold Wave.

Then with that in mind, where do I go on the net to download actual mp3
files? Most legal sites now only have downloads in the wma format. Or
is there a way to convert between the formats?

>Are you saying that I need one with flashable firmware?

No, flash chips on =SOME= archos units mean that you can have 4 second
boot
time, not 15 seconds.

>What do you mean the battery connecters are getting looser by default?

The battery contacts are the dodgy thing with these units - its not
frequent, but it is common - it is also such a trivial job that any (in
fairness, sighted) person could do with very very limited knowledge of a

soldering iron.

>Also, Do the Archos players play formats other than mp3?

No. It is theoretically possile - but was never, and is now (given
relative obseletion) unlikely ever to be done.
