If you don't want to record, There is a person on this list named Chris who
bought the studio model by mistake, because it does not record.
You could acquire Chris's unit if you don't need to record.

Thanks for the information. These models are not sold in stores any
longer, but I have found several used models on Ebay. Am I taking any
risk by purchasing a used model or should it work the same? Is there
any where to purchase a new model?

Ryan, at present, Rockbox works on the Archos Jukebox 5000, 6000,
Studio, Recorder, FM Recorder, Recorder V2 and Ondio MP3 players. All of

these support the speech features. Only the Recorder and Ondio FM models

support recording, if that's a desired feature for you. Soon (as in
sometime this year, but probably not next week!) the iRiver H110, H120,
H140, H320, and H340 models will be supported. Rockbox boots on these
units right now, but is not fully functional.

The GMINI and AV units have different hardware (processors, etc.) that
are not compatible with Rockbox, at least in its current incarnation.
