Date: Fri, 20 May 2005 19:59:46 -0500 hi. the battery itself does not have a mic, it has a standard plug that you can plug into theArchos recorder. I did purchase a pre-amp with it though, and that does require 1 tripple A battery. In my tests I didn't use the pre-amp, this is just with the mic itself. This is with the archos mic that hooks onto your shirt, kind of like a lapelle mic. Hope this helps. BTW the mic does work on other things I've tried so as I said before, the mic does work. But for some reason, not on the archos recorder.
