It's pretty much like I mentioned before. This is a lapelle mic that can
be attached to your shirt pocket or a jacket or something like that. I've
tested the mic itself, without the pre-amp on other things like my computer
and it works just fine. However, when I plug the mic into the archos, it
won't work, no matter which source I use, either Digital, line-in, or
Microphone, which of course means I would be using the internal one which
isn't what I want. Remember, I'm very new to all this, so I'm not sure
about this whole "gain" thing you mentioned? The mic itself is very very
small and doesn't seem to have a volume control on it, unless it's a very
small control I'm not aware of. I am visually impaired so I'm probably
missing something, in fact I know I have to be, because it works fine on
other things as I said before. This is really frustrating, all I want is
this thing to actually work with my archos recorder. I'm pretty much out
of ideas, so i'm still looking for any sollutions. I would hate to have
spent all this money to still not be able to do what I want, and that's
mainly to do recordings with this unit.
