Date: Sun, 22 May 2005 01:36:04 -0500 Hi folks Thank you, thank you, thank you BC!! Your directions worked like an absolute charm. The problem was that the gain was far too low on the archos and pressing the right key raised it so I could actually hear myself. The tricky part I wasn't understanding is that the rockbox software doesn't actually give you a representation of how much the gain is being raised. So, you first have to actually go into the recording screen, press the play button which puts you in what I'll call standby mode. Then, you hit the right key several times, I hit it about 10 or so. Then to my utter amazement and excitement I could actually hear something through my headphones. sure enough it was my little microphone and when I picked it up I could hear myself talking. I then did a couple of test recordings and they sounded absolutely supurb. Apart from a few popping p's which I can probably fix with some kind of windscreen, they were perfect. I was at quality 6 which is at 128k. Again, thanks to all for puttting up with my many silly questions. But of course when you're blind something that's visual on the screen isn't exactly obvious when Rockbox doesn't speak what's going on. Thank you folks again, you rock! Chris who will definitely be making lots of recordings now that this thing works! _______________________________________________ http://cool.haxx.se/mailman/listinfo/rockbox Received on 2005-05-22 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
