The best thing so far is the Iriver now plays MP2 and MPA files if you rename them to MP3 to get the codec to accept them. All my satellite radio comes in this format so it's a waste of time and quality having to convert those recordings. Currently the MPA files play a bit too slow, I guess it's because of the 48kHz played at 44.1kHz. I assume that will fix itself as soon as 48kHz MP3s play OK. If you can point MP2 and MPA files to the mp3 codec that would help. MP3 playback worked OK as well, so did playlists. My first impression was that it sounded a bit thin compared to Iriver with flat EQ settings and treble/bass both set to zero. It might just be more accurate, I don't know. Gapless playback worked great. Forwarding in short mp3-files worked. Forwarding in long (100 MB) files recorded on the Iriver didn't: When I forwarded to the last minute it said it was at the end but still played bits for the first 10% of the file. Same for forwarding in mp2 files. While playing around I crashed the Iriver a lot of times, though, mostly when browsing the file system while playing but also when nothing was playing. Trying to show a playlist also crashed. That's all for a first impression. Keep up the good work.
