Worked a charm! <phew> ...the second release is embarassing, the third would have been "hide under a rock" worthy - LOL >Now for a couple of potentially really silly question... >Having compiled the H120 simulator and run the resulting .exe file it says >no .rockbox folder... >1) Where is it looking? i.e. where is the 'root' of the simulated device No idea. On the archos it was in /source/build/archos/ >2) Does the simulator include a copy of the Firmware, or doe you have to >compile that, and then copy it into the 'root' in Q1? The Sim IS the firmware with a PC front end. The exe CONTAINS the firmware and wraps it up with some code which 'redirects' (bad word) the keyboard/buttons, the monitor/lcd and the disk i/o. It does NOT "emulate" the hardware ...it just "simulates" the interface. An "emulator" would have loads of code which pretends to be the actual chips inside the jukebox >Once again thanks for your efforts with the DevKit... Thanks for YOUR time given to help me with feedback. I went to add your name to the credits list only to be reminded it was you who helped me last time also :) The cygwin istaller is horrific and bloated. Although this trimmed version WILL need updating sparadically, it does give everybody (even newbies) an equal chance to play quickly and easily. "Embedded Firmware" scares most people, but I still honestly believe it to be one of the simplest forms of programming avialabe to the newcomer, especially when the ground work is already laid down.
