Date: Sat, 24 Sep 2005 13:02:07 -0500 You can use Gold Wave to change the format of Audible books to standard MP3 files that technically should play on Archos. I know blind people who have done this but I don't have Gold Wave. -----Original Message----- From: rockbox-bounces_at_cool.haxx.se [mailto:rockbox-bounces_at_cool.haxx.se] On Behalf Of Jonas H. Yes, but since the decoding is done by the firmware, using a different firmware will change the formats supported. This is how Rockbox on iriver support many more formats than the original firmware. This is different from how the Archos devices work, which have all the decoding done by a piece of hardware. Unfortunately, Audible is a closed format, so supporting it in Rockbox isn't possible unless someone reverse-engineers the format. Neither on iriver nor on iPod. -- Jonas H rasher(at)rasher(dot)dk -- This message brought to you by the letter 'c' and the number 3Received on 2005-09-24 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
