I too had that problem with the battery losing contact. I don't know what
initiated the problem, but I actually bent the contacts on the compartment
door outward just a bit to insure they stay in contact with the battery.

It's also possible that your battery has slid away from the battery
contacts. If I drop my unit (or even just put it down too hard at just
the right angle) the battery slips and loses contact with the battery
contacts. I then get exactly the same behavior that you described. It
appears to me that -- in this condition -- the AC is enough to make it try
to power on but it quits when it cannot detect the battery (which explains
the intermittent green LED).

The fix is to open the battery compartment and push the battery back in.

Note that I have a replacement battery. The original battery appears to
have had some sort of double-sided tape on it to prevent this from
happening. I tried to reproduce this setup with the replacement battery
using some tape that I had lying around, but it does not appear to have
worked as well.

Good luck,

Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be
changed regularly, and for the same reason.
