Is there a way to keep the noise from the disk spinning out of your >recordings? Use an external mic. >2. If your using the internal mike, how far away can the recorder pick >up sound? clearly from the back of a theathre with the mic clipped under your clothes. >3. How much hard disk space do recordings usually pick up? "Don't know" is the straight answer ...however ...It will depend on the "quality" setting, and as everything is recorded VBR is is dependant on what you are recording. >4. What is the best settings for the highest quality recordings? 7 on the scale 1..7 >5. When do you set your recordings to stereo vs mono? Stereo recording are logically bigger, and it depends on what you are recording ...from the back of a theater, there is little point in recording in stereo, and in a business meeting, who cares about the stereo positioning. Also realise that you will need a PAIR of mic's to record in stereo and the for good results they will need to be seperated by a "modest" distance. >6. What does a condenser mike look like? A metal cylinder about 1/2 inch long with a black bit of felt over one end and three legs or solder-pads on the other. >Sarai D.
