I tried to open a couple of pages so I could forward you some direct links however the wickie pages are not loading for some reason. The reset is a very tiny whole on the bottom of the player just above the USB port. when your player freezes up (and it will) you need to stick a pin into the whole and compress the restart button until the player shuts off. When you remove the pin it will restart the player and you will be good to go. hth...rocker ----- Original Message ----- From: C_no_C To: Rockbox Sent: Thursday, October 20, 2005 10:53 AM Subject: Re: controling the iriver hello there, I checked out the wickie section for Iriver Port and I did not see any tricks for the Iriver. All I saw was a lot of technical specs on the player and its components. I just bought an Iriver IHP 120 with rockbox on it so I am trying to learn everything I can before I get it. could you please point me in the right direction in where the tricks are. Also, it sounds like the reset button may be important so if you could point me to an article discussing what the reset button does and why and when to use it that would be great. Thanks for all your help, ----- Original Message ----- From: Rocker To: Rockbox Sent: Wednesday, October 19, 2005 8:47 PM Subject: Re: controling the iriver Hi, hi. how exactly do i control the iriver IHP 140? i've installed rockbox but can't get anyware with it when i try to bring up the menu i get a menu of options called erase directory, rename directory and create directory. Sounds like your in the while playing screen or you have your settings to show directories. This will hide any individual files from the voice UI. 1) Start your player using the top right button. 2)Once the disc spins down depress the middle button once quickly. This should take you to the root directory. 3)press the 3rd button which should take you to the menues which are always voiced. 4)navigate to the playback menu and go to sho files. select music or supported. Navigate out to the voice menu and select speak files by nunmbers and speak folders by numbers. Left arrow out of the settings menus and your folders should be spoken. i'm using the speech interface as i'm blind and when i move around the menus for some reason it starts spelling random letters when i move the menu button. Again, you are in the now playing screen which is where you can do these things on the fly. i also can't get any files to play either with the remote control or with out it. can't help you there because I have not messed with the remote yet. I think it's still under development. i've downloaded the manual but it seems to be for the archos player. Go to the wickie sight and choose Iriver port and read on from there. Very important as there are tips and tricks for the Iriver. Including the reset button of which you will need to get to know. hth...rocker Received on 2005-10-22 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
