Um, sorry, but you spend so much money on good earphones and then you
still have to use an equalizer to have good sound? Do you do that
irrespective of the earphones you are wearing, have you tried for
example Koss "The Plug" or one of the Sony MDR EX[57]1?

Maybe you just like very loud bass, but from my experience with the
phones I mentioned above, further bass boosting would just make other
sounds almost inaudible.

I don't want to offend you, it's just that I find your statement quite
surprising and I'd like to assess the sound quality of the Etymotics.

BTW, as we already had this discussion not long ago: I tried my Koss
earbuds again because my Sony phones broke. I am almost satisfied with
them now. I clipped two or three millimetres off of the plastic tubes
and now wearing them isn't such a pain anymore. They still don't fit
very well, though. But the sound is ok and currently I don't want to
spend money on a new paor of headphones.
