Subject: this battery regression thing: is bootbox/rombox in the loop?

this battery regression thing: is bootbox/rombox in the loop?

I was recently back in a 110v country (I am normally 220/240) and
expected to see slower charging times (I may be wrong, but I believe
that the 9v 600ma charger I got from Archos will be slower than my 12v
unit I have here)

I noticed that my bootbox/rombox installed unit was stuck on 'top-off'
for over 12h. When I unplugged/replugged, it *immediately* moved to
trickle and stayed there.

Is it the rom-resident boot logic which handles the screen updates for
charging when you are plugged in to otherwise off/idle V1 recorder
units? I decided to go bootbox in the beta phase. I haven't re-blown my
PROM since 2.5.

Is it likely that to discuss charging regressions I have
to be poking the rom-boot people, not the core rockbock battery people?
(or are they the same person.. :-)
