It doesn't hang, it just takes *really* long to build the
dynamic playlist. This is due to the fact that playing a file in
the database view is no different from playing a file in an
ordinary folder. Rockbox makes the whole folder a dynamic
playlist and then jumps into that playlist so that the currently
selected song is played. So in the songs view, it treats the
whole list (or a maximum of 'max files in dir browser' if that
setting is lower) as the current folder. Building a dynamic
playlist from a 1000+ song view will take a while...

My suggestion for a fix would be to alter the playlist building
behaviour in the database view, at least in the 'songs' list.
Rockbox should build a dynamic playlist with the selected song
only.
