If I just select 20 songs of each playlist/directory and shuffle the result, I might get half an hour of 80s songs and then several new songs in a row. My goal is to create a fixed structure for selecting random songs. Your suggested playlist extension almost make this possible. This is just like most radio stations work. Looping is not really necessary, but makes it really easy to write a format playlist that defines what lists/directories to choose from to fill an evening-long playlist. I wrote a longer description on this in 2002. The ideas behind it are still current :) http://www.rockbox.org/mail/archive/rockbox-archive-2002-10/0352.shtml Martin Received on 2005-12-11 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
