You can't do this directly: OTOH, you can get custom-made USB cables that
take the power from a USB port and output it through a standard power plug
for the iRiver.

I use cables such as this to power my mobile phone, PDA, etc, and I also
have a special wall plug with a USB socket on the top, so when I travel I
just take this and a few USB power cables, rather than a collection of
individual chargers.
