The ISD300 is the chip in the USB2.0 versions of the recorder,
and is USB MSD compatible, that means it doesn't require special
drivers for WinXP.

The chip in the USB1.1 versions of the recorder and in the
player models is the ISD200, which is not 100% USB MSD
compatible, and hence requires special drivers.

Afaik, all driver versions supplied by archos aren't certified,
so you'll get that warning when installing them. They can also
be downloaded from the archos site. From experience I can say
that not all versions work equally well, some have problems.
I finally found a version that seems to work well on most XP
installations, it is the 04062004 version.
